Zoom in on every click, automatically.
Lumae knows where you clicked while you recorded. Press Auto Zoom and the camera moves to each click, so viewers see what changed without hunting for it. Every zoom stays on the timeline for you to adjust.

How it works
- 01
Record as usual
Click through your app at your own pace. Lumae saves every click with where and when it happened, alongside the video.
- 02
Press Auto Zoom
Select the clip and press Auto Zoom in the inspector, or ⌥⌘A. Clicks close together share one zoom, so a quick run of clicks becomes one smooth move.
- 03
Adjust what you like
Each zoom is a block on the zoom track. Drag its edges to change when it starts and ends, drag the picture to reframe it, or delete it.
What you can change
Each one is named the way it appears in Lumae.
- Scale
- How far a zoom pushes in, from 1× to 6×.
- Transition
- How long the view takes to move in and back out.
- Focus
- Fixed on one spot, or Follow cursor so the view tracks the pointer as it moves.
- Easing
- Gentle, Standard or Snappy, set once for the whole video in the Motion tab.
- Default scale
- Where every new zoom starts, also in the Motion tab.
- Add Zoom at Playhead
- ⌥⌘Z, for a moment you want closer that has no click in it.
The numbers
- Clicks share one zoom when they are this close in time
- 2.2 s
- And this close on screen, as a share of the frame
- 0.3
- The camera starts moving this long before the first click
- 0.6 s
- It is back out this long after the last click, the easing included
- 1.1 s
- Standard easing. Gentle takes 0.65 s and Snappy 0.30 s
- 0.45 s
- How far a zoom can push in
- 1× to 6×
Questions
Anything else, ask on the feedback page.
Can I edit the zooms Lumae makes?
Yes. Auto Zoom adds ordinary zooms, all in one undo step. Move, retime, reframe or delete any of them, or press ⌘Z to take the whole set back.
What happens to a zoom when I trim or reorder clips?
It stays with what it was framing. A zoom belongs to its clip's own footage, so trimming, splitting or moving the clip carries the zoom along.
Does it work on videos I import?
Auto Zoom needs the clicks Lumae records, so it works on screen recordings made in Lumae. On any other clip you can still add zooms by hand with ⌥⌘Z.
Can the zoom follow my cursor instead?
Yes. Set a zoom's Focus to Follow cursor and it holds still while the pointer moves nearby, then moves just enough to keep it in view.

Record your next demo. Annotate your next screenshot.
Lumae is free for Mac. It zooms on your clicks, smooths your cursor and writes your captions, so your time goes into the demo, not the edit.
