Backgrounds that fit your window to the pixel.
Put your recording on a picture, a colour or a gradient, then set the padding, the shadow and the corners. For window recordings, Lumae measures the window's own corners, so the frame lands exactly on its edges.
How it works

Open the Frame tab
With nothing selected, or after clicking the space around the picture, the inspector shows Frame.

Choose a background
Press Choose… and pick from Pictures, Colours or Gradients, or add your own image. Press + to save a colour or gradient for later.

Set the framing
Adjust Padding, Corners and Shadow. Leave Match window corners on, and window recordings keep their own corner radius.
What you can change
Each one is named the way it appears in Lumae.
- Choose…
- Pictures, Your Images, Colours and Gradients, built in and your own.
- Colour, Colours and Angle
- Fine-tune a solid colour, or a gradient's two colours and its angle from 0° to 360°.
- Padding
- Space around the picture, up to 30 % of the canvas's short edge.
- Match window corners
- On by default, so a measured window keeps its exact corner radius.
- Corners
- A radius for displays, imports and anything not measured, up to 20 % of the short edge.
- Shadow
- From 0 % to 100 %, 45 % by default.
- Size
- The canvas: 1080p, 720p, 4K, Square, Vertical, your first clip's size, or custom.

Can I use my own image?
Yes. Choose… › Your Images › Add Image…, or drop the file on the editor window. It's copied into the project and kept in your library for future projects and screenshots.
Can I save a brand colour?
Yes. Press + under Colours or Gradients and set the wells. It saves as you go and shows up first in every project and screenshot.
Can one clip look different?
Yes. A clip's Look section can set its own background, padding, corners, shadow and pointer. Reset to Video hands a setting back to the whole video.
